I was totally dismayed to discover that my iPhone 4s won’t download the music that I didn’t purchase from iTunes. Is there a way to get all my music onto my phone without paying 25 dollars/mo?!

Can you be more specific about your problem? Because iTunes Match only lets you store your own music in the iCloud service. It’s not required for a basic sync. Normally, all you have to do is add your music to iTunes and sync. Exactly what happens when you try doing this? Do you get a specific error message when adding the music to iTunes, or do you get an error when you try to sync? What format are the music files in, and where did they come from? If there’s DRM on the files then that could be the problem.

You can google Aiseesoft iPhone Transfer, it can help you transfer your video, music and photo files from your computer to iPhone without using iTunes.
