Hey Bernice,
It is probably not worth the trouble or expense of fixing. The HTC hero will work with any standard USB charger, there are many brands of these so they are pretty cheap. It\’s just a little box that plugs into the wall, and it has a plug in it for a USB cable, you plug one end of the phone\’s USB cable into that, and the other end into the phone.
