Its time for an phone upgrade and I would like to get a Blackberry. Do I need to get the internet/e-mail plan or can I use the blackberry for on just my regular phone/texting plan?

you can just use the regular texting plan
you need an internet plan (not that cheap)
Yes, you can just use a blackberry for texting. No you do not have to have the blackberry media package. Do call your carrier though and tell them you want to BLOCK internet access from that phone. Depending on what blackberry you get it could try to access the web to update programs automatically.
